Impact of Climate Change on Hurricanes

Extreme events, including tropical cyclones, have a major impact on terrestrial ecosystems and man-made infrastructures, yet forecasting their occurrence – even at short lead times – remains a challenging task. Moreover, the evolution of such events in response to global warming is among the most controversial topics in the climate change debate. Our team is developing data driven methods for predicting cyclone activity under warming scenarios and approaches for projecting hurricane tracks.
